Default My Patriot S/C Speed........

Finally got it through a chrono today. Weighed my arrow in first and ended up with a 386 grain arrow. It is a 27" Gold Tip 75/95 in Camo with 4" Duravanes and 100 grain point. I also have a loaded up string with leaches, and the stock Bowtech hushkit silencers on the cable as well as the hushkit on the limbs and limb saver ultras as well.

I draw 29" and it went through the chrono at 293fps. Not that I am complaining about 290+ as it is plenty fast, however I thought it would be a bit faster than this at this draw weight and arrow weight. I honestly was planning on mid 290's but thought my arrow would be heavier than 386. I was planning on mid 290's with a 405 grain arrow.

Anyone else with a patriot of similar specs that has put it through the chrono? Regardless, the bow shoots great and I can't wait to shoot 3D.

My Pat at 30", 71#, 405 grain arrow shoots 303 fps. I do not have a peep or additional leeches on the string so it sounds like your right in there at 293.

Mine shoots 297 with a 400 grain GT. I shoot a 30" draw at 64lbs. I was able to get mine to 320 with the same arrow at 71lbs, but my shoulder injury doesn't like me to shoot that much draw weight. 297 fps is plenty fast for me.

Trav/WA, that's some speed for a 64# pull right there!

Mines nowhere near that- 29" draw, 65# pull, 418 gr arrow, peep, 2 cat wiskers, string loop= 266fps. 405 gr= 270 fps

But, I met my goal of a 400 gr arrow going 270fps with a comfortable 65# or less draw weight.

DaveC

It does shoot pretty well. I have 2 catwiskers, a "tied in nock", winners choice string, and a peep. My birth certificate says 334. I have seen others that are setup the same, and they don't seem to shoot as fast. Not sure what the difference is. It does get a little tricky with broadheads though. I switched to 100 gr Slick Tricks with Blazer fletchings, and they hit right with my field tips out to 65 yds, if I do my part. I will try them on Turkeys here in a couple of weeks. I almost bought a new Allegiance, but I really like my Patriot. I am going down to Bowtech the end of April, maybe they will talk me into a new one.

A 334 B/C!! That's insane! It sounds like you got a factory massaged top-secret model!

With specs like that you would only go backwards speed wise with an Allegiance.

I wonder what makes your so much faster??

BTW, the slick tricks will work well on whitetail/hogs. A lot of people prefer a BIG expandable (ie hammerheads) for turkeys because they provide a shocking punch, along with a big cut. Have you always used fixed heads on turkey?

I shoot an Allegiance with a 2X2 Peep, Kisser, and original string silencers. I shoot 28" 7595 GT Hunter Xt with 3" vains and an 85 gr tip for a total arrow weight of 379gr. It chronos at 298fps. I was shooting a 5575 with same set up, minus kisser, at 304. I shot an arrow that was 301gr once. It went out at 328fps. I can not imagine how your B/C got 334. I could not get 334 when I shot an arrow that was under IBO specs(I do not recommend it being done, momentary lapse of good judgement). I agree this must have been the double super secret bow. Where can I get one?

My 03 set up w/ 29"DL, factory silencers and hush kit, peep and tube shoots 398g arrow right at 280fps when set at 73lbs. My 02 set up with peep/tube and no string silencers sends the same arrows at 277fps. While I'm happy with how these SC Patriots shoot, others' posted speeds are making me wonder if I'm getting full potential. I purchase both bows after the new model years were out (at quite a discount). Maybe they didn't sell sooner because of slower birth certificates.

No Dually. I was not able to get what the birth cert. said. The most I could get was right around 320. I saw a couple at the BT pro shop that had around the same speed on the birth cert. Kinda nice being near the factory so I can pick and choose.
