Default Old Glory BC Speed

I asked my local shop to alert me if any Old Glory's showed up in my 28" draw length. I received a call today stating that he had received 2. I asked him what the BCs said. He said both were 70#, 28" with a BC of 285 fps. that seemed slow to me given the 30" range is over 30 fps faster according to the website.

What do you guys think?

I kinda felt that way with my Allegiance, its 70# and 28" and the BC was 302 fps. But this is still 20 - 30 fps faster than my MQ32 ive been using for 6 yrs.
Add 20fps for the 2 inches of DL and you have 322fps.

The Old glorys speed does look rather on the slow side. I would check into it again in case the shop made a mistake with what the BC says.

Yea, it seems slow to me considering there are 28" Defenders on the rack with BCs of 301 and 303. The website shows the Defender to be 2 fps slower than the Old Glory, just not in this case.

I just got a 29" 70lb Old Glory and my Birth certificate says 308fps. Those numbers do seem on the slow side.

The 29/70 OG at my shop says 299...I'm confused

Just as long as my Allegiance smokes (and I'm sure it will)...... I'll be happy.

Anybody seen any 30" Allegiances yet?

I wish I had ANY one!

I had to go and buy an Alpine to try and tide me over, but it's no Bowtech.

Well I went to the shop and shot the Old Glory. The BC was actually 286. I shot it with 378 grain arrows and got 274, which seems about right for the BC. The draw length ran 1/4 long at 28 1/4", but the weight was a little low on our scale at 69.5#.

I then shot an Allegiance that was marked 28.5" (actual 28.75 AMO), 70# on the button, 6 7/8" BH, BC read 307 or 308. It shot the same 378 grain arrow at 295. The problem for me is that I need a true 28" draw, so no go.

I then shot a Defender. BC read 28", 70#, BC = 305 fps. We got 28 1/16" DL, 7 5/8" BH, 71.5# Max. With the same arrows, I got 292 fps. This little bow was amazing. It shot only 3 fps less than the Allegiance, but the Allegiance had over 5/8" longer draw length and a full 3/4" less brace height.

I spent a lot of time shooting the OG and the Defender at 60# (before we did any chrono'ing). The Defender had a little more forward jump while the OG had a little buzz after the shot. This was done without any stabilizer. Needless to say, I came home with the little Defender. It was not the bow I planned to buy, but it was too good to pass on (and cheaper too).
