I'm sorry I can't be of much help. I guess it depends on what type of shooting you do and personal preference. I can only speek as a bow hunter and it doesn't matter much to me. Both are more than accurate for hunting use, and will out perform my abilities. As long as you get quality arrows and they are set up right you should be fine with either.

Again speaking as just a hunter I think people get too carried away with all of the details (myself included) As long as you can hit your target at the ranges you are comfortable with, then most "off the shelf/run of the mill" equipment will work.

Now if you are into 3D and the like, I would guess every MOA counts and more attention needs to be spent on your set up. If thats the case I'm sure some one who shoots competition can help you.

Slight helical, say 3/32" over the length of a 4" feather or vane.

I use as much helical as the shaft will allow me to use.

The more helical an arrow has the more air the feathers or vanes catch and the faster they stabilize and spin the arrow.

Of course this is assuming that a person can get away with this much helical. A shoot through prong rest will need straight or about a 2 degree offset to clear the prongs.

Look at these and you can see that the vanes go from one side of the shaft to the other side in 4 inches. These are in the classaifieds BTW.
