Default Acquiring Your Target

This is probably a stupid question but I was wondering how most of you go about aquiring your target. Do you center the ring around the outside of the sight within your peep or do you actually center each individual pin within your peep? Thanks Again!

I don't think at makes much of a difference. Technically, if you center on each pin you have to move your eye slightly which some might argure is adjusting your anchor and not a good thing. I think its so slight that it nothing to worry about. I've done it both ways and I'm psychologically more comfortable centering on the pin.

Centering the pin or pin guard is acceptable. In the past, most recommended centering the pin. Nowadays, more are recommending centering the pin guard. I have always centered the pin guard. A pin guard that is very close in diameter to the hole in your peep (when viewed at full draw) is easier to consistently center, than a much smaller pin, IMO.

When I shot sights, I always centered the pin in the peep. To me, it doesn't make much sense to center the sight housing in the peep. You have to concentrate on the sight housing and, simultaneously, choose the correct pin and, simlutaneously, choose your aim point and, simultaneously, put the chosen pin on your chosen aim point. That's four things to worry about at the same time! Ignoring the housing and centering the pin in the peep removes at least one of those worries.

Nobody, repeat NOBODY, shooting a multi-pin sight centered the sight housing in the peep until somebody hit the market with a sight that had a round housing. I'm sure dreaming up the technique helped someone sell a bunch of bow sights....
