Default torque and releases?

I have a Tomkat and use a Truball release. I have a brass nock on my string. (Please forgive me if I dont describe everything correctly, I'm a nu-be). What I was wondering is can you create enough torgue by pulling on the release, with your finger, to push or pull the bow to the side. If usually not enough to make a difference ok, but if it is possible enough to make a difference, I was wondering if a thumb release would be better (I know I'm not describing this well) were you turn the back part of your hand (Not the palm side the other side) towards your face, and shoot like that. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Default RE: torque and releases?

A consistant release is just as important as aiming in my opinion. Any inconsistancy will move your POI. What I try to do is to try to feel a direct line behind the arrow. And keep back pressure at that point. When you release, your hand should move directly back behind your arrow in the same path but opposite directions as the arrow. I like a thumb release bacause I have a better feel with it. I apply even pressure on the thunb and pinky of the release. If you are using a wrist strap, make sure that at full draw, you are not holding tightly on the release instead of letting the strap holding majority of pressure.
