Default Legacy vs. Q2/Q2XL

Hi All:

I am looking for some 'hands-on' differences between those 2 Mathews bows Legacy and Q2/Q2XL -- is speed the main difference? Anything lese that I should be aware? (I just do not have any store nearby to try them out)

Thanks you for all comments

PS How much are Q2 and Q2XL (street price)?

I love my Q2XL, I looked at the legacy & the Q2XL when I bought mine & liked the Q2XL better. I simply don't feel that good shooting a short ata bow but that is just me.

I like my legacy. You have to shoot both of them. Whatever you feel most comfortable with is what you should go with. Both are very good bows. You will not go wrong with either bow. Good Luck on your decision!

I just sold my Q2 this Summer and purchased the Legacy. The Q2 is an awesome bow but believe it or not, the Legacy is even better. The biggest difference I have noticed is how the bow draws. The Legacy has the new straightline 3 cams and it draws back unbelievably smooth. Case and point, my dad bought a new Legacy as well in the 50-60 range. He was so impressed with how smooth it drew that he went to the 60-70 range as well. He is getting older but is shooting the Legacy at 65 lbs when he was only shooting his Q2 at 60lbs. You will not go wrong either way, but I would suggest the Legacy!!

All good but different bows. Shooting each one is a MUST. They are just that different. I owned a Q2 and sold it for a Q2XL. I shot the Legacy at the time I bought the XL and just preferred the XL's longer axle length and I shot it much more consistently.

I agree with Todd in that one benefit to the Q2/Q2XL is that you can set it up with the MZE or other drop away. I had the MZE installed on my rig and my accuracy soared.

I just finished setting up a Legacy for someone and that bow is truly vibration free after the shot with the factory string suppressors on each end. Although Mathews said that it didn't need string silencers we were forced to add string leeches to remove some string noise. We tried a couple of different drop aways that tie to the cable and had some difficulty in tuning them. We ended up with a Bodoodle rest that tuned okay. You really need to be careful if attaching a dropaway to the cable that you don't end up torquing the rest if the bow is overdrawn.

Good Luck.

The biggest thing I noticed in shooting the Q2XL and the Legacy was the Legacy had a much shorter valley than the Q2XL. The Legacy I shot was 5 fps faster than my Q2XL.
