Default Arrow Powder/Spray

What is the best product for spraying on your fletching to check rest contact? I have used foot powder (both desenex and dr. scholls) spray but it will curl your plastic vanes rather quickly. I have also heard of deodorant spray but I have not tried yet. Any panaceas out there?
Thanks....A-train

I use Aftate, never had any problem with vanes curling. I generally spray the rest rather than the arrow, put a paper towel under the rest to keep powder off the bow.

I also use spray foot powder and it has never curled my plastic vanes, as JKT stated I spray it on the rest and riser( to check for contact ) not on the arrow it self. I have also applied asst things when I ran out of foot powder such as lipstick, eyeshadow, charcoal, but take heed these will all discolor your plastic vanes.

I have used a bit of lipstick on the edge of the fletching. It works well with paper tuning also.

Yeah spray the rest, not the arrow.

I have a question regarding spraying the rest. I do not shoot a fall-away rest so how will I know from spraying the rest that I am not getting vane contact of some sort. I expect the rest to show contact where the arrow is passing, but the real question is whether or not I have some vane contact. I am shooting a Bodoodle Zapper 300.
