RE: KE for my New Bow setup
I need to have total arrow weight to give you Kn for your set up but heres how to work it out feet per second X feet per second X arrow weight then devide that number by 450420 and that will give you your KN. Here is example of my set up 270fps X 270fps X 405grs = 29524500 divided by 450420 = 65.548821lbs kn round that off and ya get 66lbs of KN. hope this helps.

RE: KE for my New Bow setup
Rocket has recommended speeds for their heads instead of KE. They seem to like 260 fps for the Hammerhead. Go to their site and enter the 'Product Line' page for their info.

Your arrow calculates out to 398 grains. At 270 fps, you're just over 64 fpe.

RE: KE for my New Bow setup
If you do happen to make a bad hit, you'll wish you were using smaller diameter broadheads. I've had trouble with the wasp jackhammers with penetration that are 1.75". Not sure about KE on my set-up, but it is close to what your shooting. I think closer to 60-62. 64-66 ft-lbs. of KE is very good and most of the time you should be okay. You will always run into problems with poor shots, but they will be compounded with the larger diameter broadheads (when dealing with bone). Then again, the 2" diameter could end up helping you with a gut shot or something similar.
