Default Broadhead shooting

Guys, do you notice the more you use your fixed broadheads in targets, the more inaccuate they are. Last year, I got my broadheads shooting almost as good as my fields. So I took the same heads and blades out this year, and accuacy was horrible. I have worked and worked with it for the past month and half. So before going to a friends house to do some 3D shooting yesterday, I put on the ones I use to hunt with that havne't been fired at targets (figured I could buy a new set). Well, they flew great. My groups are back. Do you think the blades bend ever so slightly? While practicing with them that is over time?

Repeated shooting gets you into metal fatigue. The lighter the head, the sooner it happens, unless you get off into titanium. The blades bend. The ferrules bend. The junction where the broadhead ends and the threads begin, that bends too.

I've not had any aluminum ferrule replaceable blade heads ever hold up to repeated shooting into targets. On the other hand, I've got 6 year old Bear Razorheads that I've practiced with, done stump shooting with, small game hunted with, that have been bent and eyeball straighted with pliers, and they still group right with brand new ones.

Big,

I put up a post about a weekago "Before you make Tomato Stakes" where the broadhead blades were the problem in getting some of my arrows to group. I replaced the blades and my arrows came into the group. In broadhead shooting there are a number of things to be concerned about and they are in my opinion:

Correct arrowspine
Spin tesing (the arrow spins true on the shaft)
Fletchings are in good shape (bad fletchings can cause problems)
Bent broadhead blades (which cause bad control imputs)

Aim Hard!

I have not had a problem shooting broadheads into targets & they stop shooting good. The only time that has happened is when I missed & bent the dang thing!

I have been using the block. I would have figured that it would have been a little easier on the broadheads. I guess it could be many things. Think I am going back to feathers. Broadheads shot better then.
