Default Cold weather effects on bows???

A couple weeks ago I shot my bow through a chrony and got 247fps ave with a 505gr arrow when the temp was about 40-45 degrees. Yesterday I tried it again when the temp was about 20 degrees and got 242fps ave. I guess that kinda makes sense as everything seems to get stiffer as the temp drops, but as I will use this bow for hunting i would like to know if this is normal and if you guys practice in colder weather due to the effects of the cold weather on a bow? Thanks in advance.

Or maybe it wasn't the bow at all, maybe it was the chrony that was being effected by the cold. Any ideas? I thought of this cause I did leave the bow in the house until right before I brought it outside to test it. I know it's only 5fps, but that might be noticeable @ 30yds. Hmmmm.

The possibility of altitude affecting arrows is good, but it shouldn't affect the bow. THe air is thinner there and therefore the arrow will have less resistance to battle on the way to the target. But still, it shouldn't make THAT big of a difference, I wouldn't think. Makes sense to me, but maybe I'm just full of beans, I don't know. Just my thoughts on it anyway.

You are right every arrow hit high. I am sure it was the arrow not the bow. It all so was not a big dif at 10 yards but at 40 you could see quite a bit dif inches was difrant with dif bows.

Thinking about it this could be the same deal with the weather?

I've had to resight in my bow when the temp. dropped to like 5 degrees, but not by much at all. It may have affected it 5fps, not sure though.

In Colder Weather, Strip Off the Excess Wax from the Cables where they Go through your Cable Slide. Cold Wax, is a FPS Killer going through the Slides.JMO
