PLEASE HELP WITH FALL AWAY REST!

I bought a HHA TN-800 drop away rest and what a piece of JUNK.The instructions were a joke and when I did get it set up it doesn't drop quick enough. It has several design problems. I finally took the drop away flipper off and put a cord on it like the Trophy Taker has on it and got it to work. I don't think it will hold up like I have it but I have defintly got hooked on a drop away.I need to buy another rest and have decided to buy the NAP 2000 or 4000,the GKF Mirage or the Muzzy zero effect. I don't like the looks of the Muzzy and am worried about the toughness of the Mirage and the cable on the NAP's hitting the fletching on my arrows and the rest not dropping completely out of the way.PLEASE could you tell me which rest would have the best of the following good points.
1. Clearence when shot
2. Noise when shot
3. toughness

I never could get the nap 2000 to get vane clearance on my patriot and it had thunk sound when it dropped down but many have gotten the rest to work on the pat. The Muzzy works fine on my patriot no contact and quite too. Don't know about the toughness but will know after this hunting season, it seems it will hold up just fine.

I don't know what bow you are shooting..... but for me and my g2 it shoots NAP 4000, went to that from the 2000... like this much better but you have to leave some slop in cable...do not go by the directions... as for cable contact with flecthing I had none..... just my 2 cents...

I forgot to mention my bow and set up. I'm shooting a Parker feather mag II at 61 lbs. with 27" draw, 80 % let off,with Easton Epic 500 arrows at 27 1/2" with 100 grain points. Don

Between my dad and I we have 3 Savage drop away rests. We hunted with them all last year and I shot 3 deer with mine. I have had it on one of my Mathews that shoots around 270fps and I never have vane problems. I just put it on another Mathews that shoots around 282fps and I have had a little trouble getting it set just right. I would say your setup would have no problem. It is very quiet,not nearly as expensive as most and easy to tune. Just my opinion and the cheapest I have seen them is at Keystone Country Store.

No offence but the best advice I can give on a drop-away rest is to forget them.
To me, there's only 3 rests on the market worth owning.
1 Pro Tuner
2 Bodoodle Pro-500 or Pro Lite
3 GKF Premier series
No other rests compare to these, jmo.

I shoot a NAP 4000 drop away on a Cybertec, and like it alot. It may take a little time to get it just right, but it works great, and seems to have rock solid mounting and adjustments. I've had it for about 3 months now, and no troubles so far. Its also very quiet, and the arrow containment with the stick on arrow holder is great. You can turn the bow on its side, and it wont fall off.

I would also recommend the MZE. Its also a great, quiet drop away that has a great following.

Don, I owned a MZE and the slide chewed up my new cables on my
new bow so I took it back. I have spoke to several here on this
site and another and many suggested the trophy taker shaky hunter.
I ordered one and should be here Wednesday or Thursday. Will let
you know how it works for me. I think Golden Key has fixed their
problem with the Mirage drop away so keep that one in mind.

Hey SAG, I felt the same way until I put an old Barner drop away (about 15 years old )on my bow just to see if I could tell any difference. I immediately noticed my shooting getting better. I have shot for about 20 years and realized the drop away cured some of my left and right arrows. When I have a bad shot it seems to be a little low or high but down the middle. Those shots that feel good but hit a little left or right and you wonder what you did wrong are now right down the middle. I am a little scared of the drop away hunting but feel the advantages may out weigh the disadvantages<img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>. Don
