10.00 to 15.00 is a fair price to pay to have your bow properly tuned.
aussie guy what if the guy dont have a bow press and he has a dual cam bow and the cams are out of time, how do you suppose he is going to get the cams in sync if he cannot press the bow?
absolutley nothing wrong for a novice taking their archery equipment to a professional to make sure it is set up right.

just got the bow as an xmas present. Came with a sight , rest & quiver. I put them all on , but want to make sure they are right , plus I dont have any arrows , and have heard to get them matched to your bow. So basically I want the guy to make sure I put the stuff on right & get some arrows.

Slugman take it in to the shop but pay attetion to what they are doing. And ask why are you doing that and what does it do????? You will learn we all did then yes get a press and do it yourself if you want to.Ive been bowhunting for 22 yrs and I dont own one. I do use the bowshops but pesonally dont use one
slugman
basic bow set up is normally around 25.00 that is to install the accessories and to properly tune everything to the bow.
since you already have everything on the bow they will probably just charge you to tune the bow.
I would recomend shooting the bow at least 50 times to get the harnesses and strings settled in before taking it to the shop this way you have shot it enough that if the string or harness has stretched the technician can get the timing on the cams in sync with one another. but since you dont have any arrows that will be hard to do. so you would probably be better off buying from a shop that has a shooting lane , this way tou can ask the tech if you can shoot about 50 arrows then check the timing on the cams to make sure they are in sync, this way you wont be making additional trips for bow tuning.
just a few thoughts.

I stopped by the shop ( local ) on the way home. the guys son does the bows and hes not in till 4. They had a shooting lane but was only 10yds. Wasnt my fault my wife bought me a parker extreme hunter mag for xmas. If it was a cheaper bow I'd be more inclined to experiment.
