Default Removing inserts from carbon arrows???

Can you get the inserts out of carbon arrows once they're glued in? Last night I tried to super glue an insert in one of my new GoldTips. The insert wasn't going in right and ended up only going in a little ways. I ran and grabbed some pliers to pull it out but was too late. Now I got a brand new (useless) arrow with a 1/2" of insert sticking out of it [:'(].

lightly heat up the end of the arrow and it should pull right out with pliers.

Depends on what glue was used...

If you use a heat activeted glue, you can heat it up and pull it out. If you used real super glue, you can try -- but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Once when I was tightening a broadhead my insert started to slip. I put the insert in a vice and tried to pull it out but it wouldn't budge. Finally I decided to twist it and break the glued and then pull. It worked great and I went to the proshop and got a new insert put in.

That's one reason I wouldn't recommend using superglue to install inserts. You don't have time to work with them to get them aligned right. Use 24 hour epoxy instead.

To get that one out, carefully heat the insert, just enough to get it out. Heat a little, latch onto it with pliers and pull. Heat a little and pull. Just be patient and it'll eventually heat up enough to come out. The trick is to heat the insert up enough to weaken the glue around the insert without melting the shaft. Otherwise you'll wind up with a brand new, ruined arrow.
