i think the quality of the string influences the need for a tube more than the peep itself.
on my old bow i had to use a peep tube and nock aligner to get my peep aligned correctly, on my Justice i did away with both of them and the peep aligns perfect.

I have to agree that the string makes the difference. I put a Winners Choice string on my Parker UL31 and the peep turns perfect everytime. I now bought a Bowtech MM and I had to reset my peep after the first 100 shots or so. I will be putting a Winners Choice string on it next season.
