Default Paper tuning my bow...

I just paper tuned my bow and had to move my string loop down. I was shooting 3 pins (15,25,35). When I went to the range after paper tuning my bow, and went to shoot at 25 yards, well, my first 3 shots were at least a foot high. I started to adjust my 25 yard pin and by the time I was done, my 25 yard pin was now higher the my 15 yard pin and my 35 yard pin (didn't move it) is now very accurate at 40 yards. I now only shoot 2 pins (25 and 40).

My question is, is that normal to have your pins so far off after adjusting the angle of the arrow via the string loop?

Thanks.

Yeah, it depends on how much you move the nock but I can see it changing 1 foot.

Normally if you change anything that effects the tune of your bow, you will have to change your sights to compensate for it. Especially if you are messing with your rest or nocking point. It changes the direction your arrow is pointing when it leaves the bow, so the arrow impacts in a different spot. I don't fine tune my sight until I am done tuning. I just shoot for groups and ignore where they actually impact in regards to where I aimed. When I get the groups I want, I set my sights to put the arrows where I want them.

Good luck,
Paul
