Hello here is my question or dilema either way.
I have been shooting my 03 patriot at about 73-74 pounds the whole time I have owned it, but unfortunatley I broke my elbow this summer and can't handle drawing that much weight repeadedly even though the broken elbow is on my bow hand. I am wondering how much speed I will probably loose and if the accuracy will be affected if I drop the bow down to 63-65 pounds. I was shooting about 294 before with easton axis arrows and 100 grain filed tips and my short 27.5-28 inch draw. The speed is nice, but I really don't want the accuracy to go down hill.
If speed is what you want, not to worry. You'll still be shooting faster than most other bows at similar specs. I'd say around 280. Accuracy will not suffer. Too bad about your elbow.

BOWTECH THERE IS NO EQUAL. JUST THE EQUALIZER.
Any thoughts of trying a Winn glove release? They really do make a bow draw like it's 7-10#s lighter than what it is... May be worth a shot if you can find one to try.

I am shooting the '04 patriot and was getting roughly 277-280 out mine at 63lbs with 350 grain arrows. that is plenty fast enough far anything your are going to hunt. On top of that you accuracy ( or the forgiveness of the bow) will get a little better.
