RE: Arrow Choice and Broadheads
Carbon and aluminum (and A/C technology) are both viable choices.
Some carbon arrows have very poor tolerances that can affect your accuracy even out of a well tuned bow. Some carbon arrows have very good tolerances and are excellent shafts. None are without their faults.
Aluminum arrows are never a bad choice..the consistency is unrivaled except by A/C technology. You will sacrifice durability with the "XX14" and thinner wall thickness shafts, however. They are heavy in general (compared to carbons) and depending on your desire for speed that may or may not be a bad thing.
For alums I would recommend the 2314 size in XX75 or XX78 style. For carbons, a Beman ICS Hunter 400, Easton ST Axis/C2 400, Carbon Express/PSE 300, or GoldTip Pro Hunter 55/75 would all spine approriately and be good serviceable shafts. For A/C/C Technology the 3-49 would be the size to go with.
I shoot a little of every major brand's shafts, but after much trial and error, I still prefer Beman/Easton carbon and aluminum/carbon shafts.
