Default Arrow Choice and Broadheads

I am almost done setting up my new Liberty. Here is where I am with the process. I am going to install a Whisker Bisquit B2, Copper John Sight, and probably a Stealth Stabilizer. What are you thoughts of Carbon vs. Aluminum arrows and what brand do you suggest? How about a broadhead choice? The bow will be mostly a hunting bow with some hunter 3D shooting.

You're going to get a ton of opinions based on that info. To narrow it down a bit, what's your draw length, poundage, and budget?

I'm shooting ACC's out of my Liberty/Wisker Biscuit setup. 100 grain, 3-blade Muzzy's and 100 grain Grim Reapers are both flying well, grouping well, and hitting the same spot so I may carry a couple arrows tipped with each this season.

Call me crazy but I`m shooting 2219 XX78`s with 125gr. Thunderheads. mHeavy and only 230fps but nothing including moose will stop them. Their also very forgiving and easy to get good arrow flight with.

Carbon and aluminum (and A/C technology) are both viable choices.

Some carbon arrows have very poor tolerances that can affect your accuracy even out of a well tuned bow. Some carbon arrows have very good tolerances and are excellent shafts. None are without their faults.

Aluminum arrows are never a bad choice..the consistency is unrivaled except by A/C technology. You will sacrifice durability with the "XX14" and thinner wall thickness shafts, however. They are heavy in general (compared to carbons) and depending on your desire for speed that may or may not be a bad thing.

For alums I would recommend the 2314 size in XX75 or XX78 style. For carbons, a Beman ICS Hunter 400, Easton ST Axis/C2 400, Carbon Express/PSE 300, or GoldTip Pro Hunter 55/75 would all spine approriately and be good serviceable shafts. For A/C/C Technology the 3-49 would be the size to go with.

I shoot a little of every major brand's shafts, but after much trial and error, I still prefer Beman/Easton carbon and aluminum/carbon shafts.

Ooops..forgot about broadheads...I would stick with a 100 grain point for simplicity's sake (and you'll have a ton of choices)

You really cannot go wrong with anything made by Muzzy, Wasp, Rocky Mountain, and New Archery Products. I've been testing the Magnus Stinger 4 blades and they are also an excellent head.

If you are going the mechanical route, throw in the Rocket Steelhead and Sidewinders into the mix.
