I shoot the Fred Bear TRX 32 at 60 lbs., the aarows i use are Easton Camo Hunter XX75 2117's. do you think that I would get enough KE for the spitfires to open? Thanks for any help.
I would consider the 100's v 125's. The 2117's are a little on the heavy side, so you may have a problem with the heads opening. I know they have a new spitfire cut on contact head that may help on the entrance of the broadhead.
Go to the NAP website at www.newarchery.com and enter the faq section. The answer to your question lies in the kinetic energy produced by your arrow at a particular range. NAP recomends 50 foot pounds as a minimum for opening the spitfire and this is a function of arrow speed and total arrow weight so you are probably allright with the 2117s and a 125 gr head as long as your speed is not compromised by something. Check out the sight and do the math for yourself.
