Default mechanical release for hunting

anyone got any good suggestions on these releases -----instead of a trigger release

I am not sure I understand your question. Are you asking about a hand held "thumb trigger" release as opposed to a wrist strap style or a Pure BT release as opposed to anything with a trigger on it?

yes i have been told that a mechanical release is better than a trigger release--more accurate and easier to shoot.im not interested in a pure back tension release but something i can use to deer hunt with besides the trigger release.is a mechanical thumb release a better one to choose and shoot.what about the copper john eagle release in 3 or 4 finger?

I use a TruBall Extreme with Talon head for both hunting and 3d.

It is a thumb trigger that you can also use as a back tension release.

But just make sure when you draw any thumb trigger release that your thumb is pointed to the ground otherwise you will end up with a fat lip.
