Default All you Bowtech techies...

I have a question that will be an easy one for my BowTech friends.

I can't remember what year Bowtech started putting the sealed ballbearings on their bows, was it 2004? Are they just on the idler wheel? Is it safe to assume it is on all the top end bows?

I'm wondering if it makes that much difference?

Thanks for the help.

My Extreme did not have the sealed bearings for being a top end BowTech.

My Patriot has them as did my MM VFT.

That is a good question though.

I would also like to know what modles have and do not have the sealed bearings.

Pat should be able to field this question if he gets wind of it. I am probably incorrect but I believe all of the new designs for 2004 have the sealed bearings.

Yeah all the top end stuff for 2004 with the exception of the Extreme VFT and the Pro40 Wheely which are unchanged for 04' except for color.
Bearings make a difference.....less slop, more consistency , less friction.

So if I am understanding things right, any of BowTech's bows prior to 04 will not have the sealed bearings correct?

All the Uni cam bows have bearings in the idlers. I'm glad to see them in the cams now

If you're talking about cams, 2004 is the first year for sealed roller bearings in them with the exception of the Extreme VFT, Pro 40 Wheely, TomKat, BlackHawk, BlackHawk2, LadyHawk and the Rascal.

If you're talking about idler wheels, with the exception of the 2002 TomKat and BlackHawk all of the full size idlers have had bearings in them since day one (03-04 use bearings).

The Rascal cam and idler which is used on the BlackHawk2, LadyHawk and the Rascal still use bushings.

So say for example an 03 Patriot Dually carries just the bushings, correct?

I understand the "less slop, more consistency, less friction." It would also seem like it would be a better system maintenance wise, which obviously affects all three.
