Default Alpine Fatal Impact--Good Deal?

hi all,

I think I got one heck of a deal this weekend, and I just wanted to get your thoughts. I went into a proshop near my parents house w/ the intent of buying a mid-level Bowtech or PSE. I wasn't going to spend one penny over 500 dollars.

Of course being the salesman they are, they had me shoot the patriot, and at that point I was actually ready to wait another year to get the the bow I really wanted. As I started getting frustrated between choosing what I wanted and what I could afford, I noticed a single Alpine FATAL IMPACT w/ John Copper sights, Whisker Biscuit Drop Tine rest, Limb Savors, String Leaches, stabilizer, (i.e.) the works.

I asked the dealer if it was used, and he said NO. Some guy ordered the bow and the accessories last year, never paid and never picked up. He said that it has never even been shot. I asked if I could shoot, and he abliged. Now, it wasn't quite as smooth as the Patriot, but still pretty sweet.

I asked what he wanted for the bow, "he replied 425.00" (They stopped selling Alpine bows this year, and he just wanted to get rid of it) Not being familiar w/ Alpine Bows, I assumed that was fair; I paid my money and took my new bow home.

So what do ya'll think. Did I get a good deal, ripped off, or somewhere in between. I'd prefer responses from someone who is familiar w/ this particular bow.

Also, I'd like suggestions on broadheads. I'm shooting 29 inch 4560 Carbon Express Arrows, 62# draw weight, 29" draw. It's either between Thunderheads or Spitfires. I'd like to shoot the expandibles, but i'm having a hard time trusting them.

BTW...it Chrono'ed at 286 FT/SEC

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you got a deal , about 1/2 of what it would have cost

Yeah, you got a great deal1 Alpine bows in my opinion are underrated. They shoot quiet fast and accurate. As far as broadheads, you will need the o rings for the thunderheads so they will fit snug. Also look at the muzzy 100 grain or the wasp hammer sst.
