Default bowtech liberty setup problem

I SET UP A NEW O4 LIBERTY WITH ONLY USING THE NOCK THAT WAS SENT FROM FACTORY. I SHOT IT THROUGH PAPER AND ADJUSTED THE NOCK VERY LITTLE TO MAKE IT SHOOT BULLETS AND THEN SIGHTED IT IN. THEN I SLID A BUTTON UP THAT WAS INSTALLED FROM THE FACTORY BETWEEN ARROW AND RELEASE. THEN SHOT IT AGAIN AND IT SHOT 1 1/2 FOOT LOW. WHAT CAUSED THIS? I SHOT IT THROUGH PAPER AND IT WAS GOOD. THEN I SLID THE BUTTON BACK DOWN AND STARTED HITTING ON AGAIN. DOES IT HURT TO SHOOT W/O A BUTTON OR A 2ND NOCK BELOW THE ARROW? IT IS SET AT 81#, 29"DRAW, 28" ACC 3-71 ARROW, 100 GRAIN TIP, WHISKER BISCUIT.

I'm not sure if I'm reading things correctly. Did you slide one of the Speed Nocks up the string? If that's the case they shouldn't be moved. You'd want to leave them where they are and manually add another nock if desired.

I USED ONE OF THE ELIMINATOR BUTTONS INSTALLED FROM THE FACTORY. I LEFT THE SPEED NOCKS ALONE. I EVEN TRIED A BRASS NOCK AND IT HAD THE SAME RESULTS.

Eliminator buttons will have an effect on arrow flight because of how the nock gets off the string.
Your release will put a different pressure on your nock by itself vs. the rubber button up tight that does not move at release. It stays snug against the nock for the entire launch where your release alone is gone at the start.
It's simply 2 different styles of release.

I had a bow once that started shooting low out of the blue and couldn't figure out why?........well what happened was the eliminator button I was using was worn out to th epoint where it was kicking down the center serving at release causing a dramatic change in impact. I tore it off, slid up a new one and the bow went right back to dead on.

That experience caused me to start shooting a string loop the very next day....haven't shot anything since and that's about 8yrs ago.

The rubber button moved you release down the string a little bit. This changed your anchor point in relationsip to your string. This is most likely why you are hitting low. If you shoot it using the cushion and it tunes well, just re-adjust your sights to make up for it.

By the way, do you use a peep sight in your string? If so, with the button between your release and arrow draw the bow back to your anchor point with your eyes closed. Then open them, the peep should be right in front of your eye. You shouldn't have to bend your head or change your anchor point at all. If it's not right, have it moved so it is.

You can shoot without the cushion, but you may damage some nocks or something. I would go a head and use them if they are there.

Good luck,
Paul

plus sometimes without the cushion button the nock will come off the string when you're almost at full draw, at least its happened to me. i think its why those thing were invented.
