Default arrow flight like a golf ball?

I've noticed an odd phenomenon this summer. Most of my practice is in the back yard at 20-30 yds. The bow is sighted in well--shooting tight enough groups to be hard on my arrows--ie--2 robin hoods, countless fletching hits... etc. Out at 50 and 60 yards, the bow is shooting a foot or more to the right. When I adjusted to center the shots at long range, I'm now shooting 2-3" to the left whenI'm practicing at 20 and 30 yards. I hate to confess my poor form at golf, but the arrow appear to start a little left and then come to the right just like my typical golf shot (my golfing friends tell me its from an outside in swing and that I have too may hobbies). What's up? There are no tuning issues that I can see--the bow groups as well with slick trick 100's as it does feild tips (this is hard on the arrows!). Am I in error to assume that in the absence of wind, an arrow flies straight? Please help--bow season is 10 days away and my confidence is being affected. I'm shooting the following:

2002 Bowtech SC Patriot @ 70#
27" goldtips, 100 grain field points/slick tricks
spot hog real deal sight
quick tune 1000?
I'm shooting with a release and use a peep sight.

Are for sure you are not having any fletch contact? It dosen't take much to put a litte roll in the arrows flight.

Also re-check your center shot. Good luck.

I agree with buckeye. It sounds like your rest may not be centered. I had this problem alot when I was shooting a TM rest and this was always the issue. Also if you are worried about making fletch contact just cover the vanes in powder and shoot one. You'll be able to see right away if you are hitting because the powder will be rubbed off.

Sounds like your sight might not be square to the bow. If your groups are good, but move to one side, and you group BH with the field points, chances are the bow is tuned decently.

Do you have a level on the sight? If not, get one, you might be canting the bow. If so, make sure the sight level is level. Take a 3 foot level and check a door frame to make sure it is level, then hold the bow up against the door frame making sure the limb pockets are touching the frame at the same spot. Is the sight level not level? If not fix it.

Just a guess here.........but it seems like 5shot said he got good flight with Slick Tricks even out of a poorly tuned bow !

Secondly........from what I have learned here.........when group tuning :

You shoot your group at 20 and get it on.......
You shoot your group at 40 and if it's right........you move your rest in small increments left until you get it on........
Then you come back to 20 and shoot/adjust your sight........
Then you go back and shoot your 40 yrd group again....

That's the way I understood it and it works for me.....
Some of my adjustments were very hard because neither my sight or rest is micro-adjustable.........but I pulled them in all the way to 70 yrds by doing the above !!

But...... I by no means...... am a tuning guru !![8D]

What bob said has merit , another fix may be to place an oring or two between the bottom screw of you sight and the risor , if you are a right hand archer and tilt the bow slightly to the right , as most of us do . This is the reason some bow manufactures have made tilted angle grips , pearson and merlin come to mind , love my merlin max3000 , which has the tilted grip .

And yet another reason why shooting at live animals long distances with an arrow is not a good idea.

Gee's the whole reason for me being out there with a bow is to get close in, for the shot. If I want to shoot something 50 to 60 yards away, I'll bring my shotgun.
