Default Ultimate bow, if you could make it....

I was just thinking. If I could build a bow (that worked) using technology from all the manufacturers to build the "superbow", what would I use?

Its probably known here that I prefer the Hoyt lineup for the most part. But... I really like the Bowtechs as well. So...I'm thinking take a Hoyt riser and slap some vertical "Bowtech like" limbs on it. Use Hoyts limb pockets since I feel they are the best on the market in that regard. Eccentrics? I haven't a clue what to use. I like the Cam .5, but the Freedom cam is a sweety.

How about it? What else can you come up with?

sounds like a cool bow already, i think the new hoyt bows are awesome, the only improvement i can see that they need is maybe more parallel limbs.

Mathews Legacy riser, limbs, and cable guard. Mathews Outback grip. Hoyt style of limb pockets and cam .5 system. Winners Choice strings and cables. This just brings all kinds of ideas to mind. I like the idea of the Patriot with Cam .5 system.

Hmm...tough call...

I would say..I would want the lack of noise/vibe/recoil of the Outback

Smoothness, valley and draw stop of the Freedom cam

Level/straight nock travel of the HP and PSE NRG cams

Mathews competition grip

Speed of the Black Knight

On the Pro40 freedom cam riser with Barnsdale limbs.

Hows that?

Withouth creating a Frankenstein from existing bows, the specs for my perfect hunting bow would be .

Parallel limb bow, straightline type single cam with draw stop & 65% letoff, large idler, about 1.5 to 2" of reflex on a long machined aluminum riser, pivoting locking pockets, 35-36" AtoA, wood flat heel low wrist grip, 7" sight window, 7.75" brace height, 4 to 4.25 pound mass weight (bare), Winners Choice string and cable, and a (realistic) IBO 30/70 speed of 315 FPS.

If somebody makes it, I don't care who it is, I'll buy it

Closest thing I see in anyones line-up is PSE's Venom...a little slower, a little light, crappy harness, and not-so-hot limb pockets, but dimension-wise it's damn close.

I'd like my riser to be made by Diamond. They have the best machining I've seen from any manufacturer. I'd like to put Mathew's harmonic doo-dads in it. . For limb pockets, I want one by Martin. They are simple, and it is impossible for the limb to move. I absolutely hate locking limb pockets or any limb pocket that relies on machining tolerances to hold the limb. I prefer a Martin grip with wood side plates.

For limbs, I'll take the Merlin's limb that is on the Max Extreme. They have a very aethetically pleasing shape and are very strong. However, the limb skins would have to go. Simply too ugly for me. On the other hand, Merlin's '03 camo is the best in regards to being truely camouflaged. I prefer it over all other camo patterns I've seen.

Then, add a hybrid cam - any hybrid cam. All of them appear to be good. I like the draw cycles and the apparantly straight nock travel they offer.

Add a custom made Ultracam string (made by myself), and I'll be one happy camper.

A 30" ATA Outback. That would be my ultimate hunting bow. Right now the Outback is a little too heavy and not as compact as I'd like.

well here you go. I have 2 bows I would like to have!

Hunting 36" ATA - 8.5 brace height, 70 lbs, 70-75% letoff, long riser, riser dampening system, wood grip, semi VFT type limbs, no split limbs, nice camo - predator deception would be cool, single cam, large idler, single post - no moduals, solid wall, nice solid limb pockets, some kind of string supression system, machined riser, roller guard system, semi reflex design.

Target 43" ATA - 8 brace height, 60 lbs, 70-75% letoff, long riser, semi VFT style limbs, wood grip, no split limbs, single or hybrid must have solid wall, large idler if single cam, riser dampening system, candy apple red with light metal flake & some cool looking metallic flames that fade into a black riser, no modules on the cam, solid limb pockets, chrome hardware, machined riser, roller guard system, recurve limbs, semi reflex design.

Well there you go! Any bow companies looking for a picture I will be glad to draw it up, test it & shoot it for you! all I ask is a couple of freebies for it.......ok I can dream right?
