Default Does a string untwist if you take it off?

If a bow is put in a press and the string is taken off will it untwist? Will I have to twist it back to lenght and retune? If so is there a way to prevent this.

Only if you let it untwist.

When you pull it off your bow simply take a piece of tape and tape the two ends together.

In my limited experience they won't untwist all the way, but maybe a turn or two. They seem to usually stay about where they're at unless there are a lot of twists to begin with. It's probably in your best interest to recheck the length before you reinstall it anyway.

My pro shop will know what length it should be right? But I think they put two twists in it to align the peep.

A twist or two, won't hurt anything, but the ends should be tied together to keep it from losing too many.
