Ok, so I'm fiddleing around with my Liberty in the back yard range. I decide I want to shoot it without a stabilizer since I just started using backtension and figured maybe it would vibrate a ltitle more and I could tell if it was really "jumping by surprise"

I take it off and what happens? Nothing! Still no vibration or hand shock. So I realize now that I shouldnt have taken off the stabilizer becuase I just wasted $50 on a vibracheck. Of course I also realize that I hold a little steadier and the pin bounces around less. And the bow is lighter, so I guess its alright.

They don't need much, thats for sure I prefer a little forward tip and a heavy bow to so I use a fairly heavy stabilizer, but most people could probably get away with none or a very small 2-4" stabilizer.

A stabilizer definitely is not needed for excessive recoil or vibration reduction on any of the VFT style bows but, as you mentioned, it does aid in balance and aiming. Many folks forget that was why stabilizers were used in the first place.
