Does shooting mechanicals into a block target do any damage to the mechanicals?I would like to practise with them but don't want to ruin them.Ron

I have shot mine into soft block targets such as " The Block" with good results; BUT; (you knew there had to be one of those in here) I have shot them into the targets that you buy at wal-mart that are supposivly field points on one side and BH on the other and destroyed the head. The target was to hard apperently. I have also shot them into old bag targets with good results.

Tie them shut. I stripped the paper off a bread tie and wired mine shut. Worked for a few shots then repeat to keep tight. The wire isn't adding enough weight to make a whole lot of difference between them and practice tips. I've also used Spider Wire or similar fishing line too.

BLASPHEMY!

I tie them shut, make sure they fly like field tips, then practice with field tips.

Why not take advantage of one of the beauties of mechanicals?
