365 enough?

I shoot a 365 gr arrow out of a 72 lb mathews outback with a 28"draw...enough or should i go heavier...........thanks for your help

Plenty heavy enough for just about any animal on this continent

If you plan to go to africa they have a 700 grain arrow requirement

From the Easton Arrow Shaft guide, The AMO recommends that you use no less then 6 grains per pound of peak bow weight. from what you tell us your shooting at 72 lbs. so my calculation would be you shouldn't be shooting any less then 432 grains (total arrow weight).

I have seen an "up-dated" list of AMO minimums in the past,that was subject to draw length and draw weight.If you have a 28" draw you can get away with alittle less than the standard 6 grn.per inch.BUT,,once you get over the 70 lbs. mark it bumps up quick.I wish I still had a copy of that list.It was a bit of an eye opener

Safe enough? Yes, probably when considering your draw length. However, I would still probably increase the weight a bit to increase your momentum number as well as decrease the amount of wear and tear imparted into your bow.

It's enough ! Mathews warrenty covers 5 grains per pound and up......so your right on the line !

I hunted for 3 years with a 5 grain per pound set up and killed a lot of deer ......with pass through shots on all but a couple of shots that hit heavy bone !

However , I will say.........that your bow will be noticably louder with that set up !! It may be quiet enough for you ! I switched to a 450 grain arrow and my Outback is significantly quieter !

If it was me shooting a hard cam bow at 72 pounds, the chart says I shouldn't shoot less than 586 grains. [8D]
