Default Why does my new arrow hit 2 inches lower than my old one?

My old arrows are carbon buck-eyes 435grains FOC is 10.3 My new arrows are Easton axis 420grains FOC is 9.3 both are fletched with 5 inch helical and are cut to the same lenghth my rest is a muzzy zero effect. The axis hits the target 2 inches lower than the buck-eye at 20 and 30 yards. this means i will have to move all my pins down for the axis but what i want to know is why would a lighter arrow impact lower than a heavier one????I have spin tested both no wobbles?? does the FOC have anything to do with it??

DIAMETER.

Chances are very good that the new arrows are a tad bit smaller in diameter, resulting in the lower groups. It might be a good idea to adjust the rest up slightly and your tune might be right back to where it should be but you really need to group tune the new arrows to know for sure.

Tune might also be something to consider. With 5" helical, there is a chance of fletching contact and if the previous arrows had some contact, that will cause them to shoot high if the contact is hard enough.

TFOX is probably right one the first suggestion.......the smaller diameter gives the new arrows a lower launch angle. Won't look like much to the naked eye but when you transfer that difference to 20 or 30 yards and it shows up noticeably.

This is the reason why many times at 20 yards you can get a fat aluminum shaft to group right with a much smaller diameter shaft even though it might be considerably heavier and slower.

kop, I also think that the lower FOC and spine deflection also has a lot to do with it.

FWIW, what are the diameter sizes for the arrows?
