Default X-Tec Setup and Arrow Combination Question

Hi All,
I have a question, being relatively new to bowhunting and archery in general. I have an X-Tec setup with a 29.5 inch draw @ 65# shooting Carbon Tech 40/65 Whitetails (7.9 GPI) (this is what my pro shop recommended). While paper tuning, i was able to get bullet holes most of the time, but not always. I understand the principles behind paper tuning, and am concerned that I may be underspined with my current arrows. Anyways, I feel like I am right in between arrows here, and am not sure if they would be appropriate for the coming blacktail season. I was thinking of putting NAP 100 gr thunderheads on for hunting, but am open to recommendations from those with much more experience.

My question is this. A) Are my current arrows stiff enough for my current setup? B) If so, what size broadhead do you recommend? C) I have not had a chance to weigh the complete arrow yet, but I am pretty sure that I am either right at the 6 Grain per pound threshold, if not a little below. Is this going to be a problem.

Any other info or advice is greatly welcomed.

Thanks

If you go to http://www.carbon-tech.com/ and download or open the 2003 catalog near the bottom of the page, there is a chart on page 5 that should be able to help you out.

Going through their whole selection process, looks to me like you need to be shooting 65/80's instead of 40/65's.

One painful lesson you MUST learn is that not all people behind the counter in 'pro shops' are thoroughly knowledgeable. Not all of them are totally honest either. And they're ALL human. Even the honest and knowledgeable ones can, and do, make mistakes.

That is real light for a hunting arrow. Would be good for 3-d. I'd get some heavier arrows for hunting and they'll spine better for you.

If you get bullet holes sometimes, it sounds like torque or contact.
