Find a pro shop that handles a variety of bows and shoot them, see what one feels the best! I'm not sure on the specs ont the bows you mentioned but get one with a good brace height (6''+). And I like and longer axle to axle at least 37". If its only for hunting shorter will work fine but I would keep that brace height up there!

I like Brand M- Because they shoot nice for me.

Shoot them both and see which one keeps you in the X spot. Go with that one.

If your pro shop will not let you take your time and shoot them, Ask your buddies if you can shoot theirs.

Yeah, I like brand "M" too---MERLIN!

If you want an all-out hunting bow, you have got to try the Merlin Max xtreme before deciding on any other bow--trust me you want to try one!

If you want a hunting bow you can shoot 3D, field and spots with, the Quest 35 fits the bill.

If you want the best "all around bow" made, (IMHO) check out a Max 3000.

If money is a factor and you still want a great "all around bow", check out the Vision.

Yes, there is something for everyone! www.merlin-bows.co.uk

Good luck in your search! Pinwheel 12

Don't overlook bow by Martin, Parker, Darton, Bowtech, Pearson and others. There are a lot of good bow by good companies. Contrary to what you might read on archery forums there are other bows besides Hoyt and Mathews. They are just the two that do the most advertising. Don't be in a hurry. As others said, shoot a lot of them. If one feels, sounds, looks and shoots better than others then you can answer a lot of your own quetions.

I'm shooting an Xtec and love it. Smooth, recoil free and very accurate. I'm not going to say yes, this is the perfect bow for you though. You really need to go shoot a bunch and settle on what feels good to you. The X may not feel as good to YOU as another bow may.

Don't overlook Bowtech by any means. Awesome company and great bows. For a hunting rig, the Liberty really stands out in my mind. Very sweet shooter. IMO, they are right there with Hoyt.

In my opinion, the brand is relatively unimportant. Most willl shoot as well as any other, as long as you don't get one that has a manufacturing defect. It is far more important to choose the right bow shop. One that will stand behind your purchase with great service, proper setup and the right tuning advise. I believe that this can make a huge difference in how well you shoot and how happy you are if a problem arises.

Look very carefully for the very best bow shop, and then buy whatever bow you like best out of their offerings.

See, I'd shoot something different than your buddies just to show you don't have that "follow the crowd" mentality
