Not gonna knock Matthews for entering the traditional market, but personally I would stick with a known quality traditional equipment manufacturer. Someone with a good track record.
For what they want for their longbow, you could custom order just about any high end longbow or recurve from a proven bowyer and know exactly what you are getting and specify everything. I shot Mathews wheels for 6 years and just switched to traditional and if you do a little research you will see my point. Just my .02

I believe MAthews bought out AIM - and they are making the Mathews trad bow line.
AIM is a good proven line.

What am I on???????
I am on my Bike 6 hours a day, Busting my A**...thats what I am on.
The company that matthews bought is SKY Archery( founded by Earl Hoyt) and was /is one of the oldest, most respected names in traditional archery. This information comes from Frank Addington (Matthews pro staff), I saw his demonstration and spoke with him at the 2004 Dixie Deer Classic, where he was promoting this bow as well as other Matthews products. Hope this helps.
