Default Lasser Tuning ??

My Pro Shop said he didn't paper tune, as you didn't need it, when he tunes. He said he uses a lasser to set a bow up.

I know a lasser really comes down to just a bright beam of light.

What do you folks think?

It depends on what you uses the laser for. Is it an advanced laser tuning device that will allow you to check for cam lean, etc... or is it something simple like the EZE laser centershot tool?

Even if he used both I still believe that additional tuning is required because we do not all shoot the same as individuals.

That guy is scary. I agree with PABowhntr, additional tuning will more than likely be required. And to think that he might be telling beginners this is even more scary. If he truly believes what he told you, I'd find another shop to frequent.

I agree with PA,if he checked for cam lean at full draw then consider yourself lucky,if he is just using a center tuning device, that is great and will have you extremely close but it doesn't take into account how you shoot the bow.I do agree that you are PROBABLY beyond paper if he has done both and it is time to go straight to group tuning.

If he just used a center gauge to set center shot and you are seeing a bad tear then there is a problem with either your bow, your form or arrow selection so the center gauge is quite usefull in that regard.

If your form is dead on and your spine is dead on.A lazer tuned bow if done at full draw will shoot bulltholes but that doesn't mean it will group best for you on the range.Even a bow that has been lazer tuned and tuned on a hooter shooter will need to be group tuned by the shooter for the best results but the changes at this point will be very minor.

My feelings as well but the group tuning/paper tuning issue seems to be a hot one lately and I was not in the mood to get into it...
