Default Cheap made Gkf Tranquilizer stabilizer!

I just wanted to tell anyone who is using one of these to watch out they break easily!I purchased one the same day I bought my new Justice gave $44.00 for it and the other day I was carryin my bow out to shoot and I just bumped the back of my couch with it as I walked by and looked down and half of it was layin on the floor with a lot of ground up rubber all over it.I know GKF makes some great products but they need to beef these up a little!I figured the inside was coated with a thick solid rubber piece but it is nothin but a thin piece of brittle plastic with ground up string leeches in it.Thought about takin in back to my dealer and tryin to see if they warranty these but it was my fault but if bumpin it on a couch breaks it I cannot imagine how long it would last in the woods!I do not abuse my equipment but I do not treat it like a little baby either!Anyway it was my fault and just wanted to let anybody know who has one Handle With Care they are easily broken. Now I gotta decide on another stabilizer any suggestions on what you guys like best would help.Thanks.

From their reported well deserved rep, I imagine one phone call or email to GKF would result in a new one on it's way to you pronto, very few questions asked.

GKF has OUTSTANDING customer service.........let em' know and they'll have you out a new one pronto tonto.
I had one of the original ones commit suicide on me a few years ago when I was trying them out.....first the end cap flew off, and then it broke just above the stud.
To their credit I had a new one in days.

Give GKF a call or email and they will take care of it ASAP. They have some of the very best customer service in the business. If I had ever had something wrong with any of their products no matter how minor it was taken care of immediately no questions asked.

Funny that it broke like that though. I had one on for two years elk and mulie hunting in the mountains and bumped it into everything around and it held up great. Just some scraches and finish wear.

I have had great results with the tranquilizer. I am on my 3rd one. I haven't had any problems yet. Every new bow I get I already know what stabilizer I will put on it as long as the bow balances well for me.

I can defenitly see what you are saying though. It doesn't shock me to much hearing of it breaking. But give them a call as everyone suggested and good luck.

I don't believe that the stabilizer could be that brittle and nothing be wrong with it unless it come from the factory like that. I would definetly give them a call or e-mail to let them know. These stabilizer's are supposed to be rugged and take the abuse ,they just don't break like that under normal condition's .
If you decide to change stabilizer's give Jerry at Stealth a shot ,a lot of us on this site are using them and really like them, they're an excellent stabilizer.

I have owned several of the Tranq. stabilizers. Out of the 3 or 4 I had one break the first time I used it. The other three are still holding up quite well after years of use. I believe that GKF had a quality control problem with a batch or two some time in the last year or so. As the others stated, if you contact them then will probably send you a replacement.

They are, indeed, filled with ground-up limbsaver material but there is also a small limbsaver mounted to the mounting screw at the base of the unit...at least on the one that broke there was....

Thanks for all the replies guys.Ya'll were right!I emailed Golden Key last night and told them about the stabilizer and first thing this morning I got a reply.A lady named Barbara emailed me back and told me to send it back to them along with $5.00 for return shipping and they would take care of it for me!Great customer service A+!!Glad I came on here and posted about it instead of just cuttin my losses. The only other company that has responded to a question I emailed them that fast was Bowtech. Not that I have had any problems with my bow but everytime I email Pat with a question get a answer same day or at the latest the next day. Most companys I have contacted about a product at least 2 weeks if I even get a response back!!Well still great to know some companys will stand behind their products.I am switchin to Magnus Stingers this year and my dealer told me if one ever breaks on anything they will replace it with a brand new one.Not that I would go out and shoot bricks or something tryin to break one but when a company puts that kind of confidence in their products it gives me confidence in my equipment and thats what i want everytime I step in the woods!!Thanks guys for the help!!!
