Default Question for Hoyt guys.

I am going to be getting a 2001 Hoyt Havoc XT 2000 Versacam in a few days.

Can anyone tell me if this bow has the dual trac idler, or just a single track with the long string.? No big deal really, just curious.

I was also wondering if anyone (Frank?) knows what # Redline cam would be a 29-30" draw for a Havoc.

Thanks

Joe,
In 2001 hoyt did not use the dual track idler on the havoc with versa cam, also i think 2002 was the first and last year they used it on their bows.
As far as a redline cam goes, i think a #5 would be for 29" draw, and #6 would be for 30" draw.

Looks like they already have this one covered. I really need to get a spec book for the Hoyt bows. It gets so confusing trying to figure out things like which year they went to all "TEC" risers. Which year the Magnatec dropped the overdraw......

The bow just got here today!

It was actually misrepresented a bit as a 27-31" draw, but came with a #5 Redline HL cam. The guy had it set up to shoot off the string, so @29", it feels a little short, but not too bad. I probably will set it up to shoot with a loop, or maybe get a #6 cam to try. Very nice bow, looks like it is brand new.

It also is probably the quietest bow I have owned. Easily as quiet as the Q2 XL or the McPherson 38 special. The draw is also smoother than I had expected of a Redline cam. I am very pleased so far, just have to see how I can group with this short bow.

Then it was mispreresented quite a bit because the Redline HL cam was discontinued by the time the 2001s rolled out. They had a new Redline cam for 2001 that used a peg system for letoff adjustment but the cams were not draw length adjustable otherwise.

Methinks you have a 2000. Or a converted 2001.

Thanks very much, Jeff.

Frank told me the same thing in a PM. So it was a 2000 Redline, not a 2001 and 27-31.[:@]

BUT it is a 29" draw, which I wanted, and it is absolutely like a brand new bow, and it has a Redline cam, which is what I thought about getting for it anyway.

It is shooting great so far, and I got a very good deal on it. I am happy.

BTW, it is great to see you posting here. I was getting worried. Hope your health is improving, and work is not burning you out too much.
