Default Loopmaster w/o a Loop?

Hey guys,
I was thinking of experimenting and ditching my loop for a little while. It's the off season and I'm bored, just want to try something different. I use a Tru Ball Loopmaster release. The jaw is pretty wide, so I don't think serving wear would be an issue. Do ya'll see any problems with trying this with a release that is designed for a loop?
