I just bought one last week off the net for 60.00. It works great. All my Axis arrows were within 1 grain.

You can just as easily use a beam type powder scale that has tha capacity you are looking for to do the same job.
A 1000gr powder scale runs between 40 and 70 dollars depending on where you buy it and whose name is on it. Cabelas and Midway both have great selections.

I thought GKF was coming out with a digital scale that was going for around $75. They were touting it on the various forums for several weeks. You can also just try a conventional scale...I forget who the manfuacturer is...but they are available from places like Cabelas and usually go for about $50.

PA--you may be thinking about the Lyman Archer's Scale, I use one myself but it's tricky to read as the notches aren't precise with the measuring scale--at least not on my scale.
I got mine from Cabelas, ran me about $55.

ampahunter,

Yes, that is the one. I have one in the basement but cannot say that I remember having problems with what you mentioned. Are the graduations and notched not lined up or what?

PA, correct, the notches fall 'in between' the lines on the measuring marks, so the 'Triangular' mark on the sliding balance weight doesn't point directly on a line, it's always in the middle of two lines, if you get what I mean.
Does the triangular mark on the sliding balance weight line up directly with the lines on the measuring scale?

ampa, I have the same issue with mine.
I forgot which side of the triangle I favor, but I could be favoring the wrong one[].

As long as you read it the same way each time you can compare between like items.
Come to think of it, I think I used a hand full of matchpoint tips to decide which way I look at it.
