oneida,

I'll tell you one thing, I had a BowTech MightyMite last year, and it was set at 73# draw weight and 30" draw length. I was using the BlackHawk Vapor 4000 arrows, and these things wouldn't work in the MightyMite at that poundage. I knocked it down to the low 60# range for hunting, and still, they weren't flying good at all! I had a guy helping me tune the bow, and we spent hours upon hours trying to get good flight and it just wouldn't happen! I switched to PSE Carbon Force Dominator 300's and got perfect flight!

I then e-mailed BlackHawk (I had a dozen arrows, which had American Flag cresting, and red/white/blue dura-vanes), and told them what all was going on, and asked if they had any tips or ideas as to what could be happening! I pretty much got the cold shoulder! The person who responded was ignorant and pretty much said that my friend and I didn't know how to tune a bow (the guy went to PSE's shooting and tuning school, and worked at a local pro-shop as a technician)!

I will NEVER buy another BlackHawk again, not only because the arrows didn't fly good for me (not even close to good), but also because of there terrible customer service![:@]

I've personally heard a good bit of bad things about these shafts. Durability seemed to be the biggest complaint. I also heard that consistancy in weight and straightness left a lot to be desired as well. I personally never shot them, but did take a good look at them. Seems fine to me.

I guess I'm being naive about them. I've heard good and bad about almost any arrow on the market. I can'tpersonally attest to Blackhawk's quality, but being as I'm supposed to get some 23 Speeds from them I'll get my chance to test them thoroughly this spring and summer. Hope I have better luck than some of you guys.

That was my biggest concern with them. I have had several different ICS carbons whose underlayers broke which resulted in bent carbons...yet the outside layer showed no signs of damage. However, I had more of those situations with the Blackhawk Vapors than with any of the other ICS carbons.

I shoot their carbon/aluminums. I bought them on the advice of my pro shop. These spec the same as a/c/c's, fly great, and are about $40-50 cheaper per dozen. I haven't had any durability issues with them yet, but I've only had them for two months. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
