Default HOYT Accuwheels

I am going to purchase a new bow for target shooting and was thinking about a Protec or Ultratec with the accuwheels. Other than a lack of speed are there anyother drawbacks to using these type cams?

The accuwheels don't have a lot of "back wall" to them. Sorta spongey.

So if you're looking for a real solid back wall like some single cams- you may need to add some wallbangers to make it a solid and hard back wall.

I agree with Black Frog on this one. The accuwheels do have a spongy back wall. You might be better off with the Command cams Plus if you want a solid back wall at the low draw weight settings typical for indoor target archery.

Black Frog,

Where have you been hiding? I haven't seen much of you since you posted that buck thread. There are some good tech. discussions that have been going on here lately and I miss your input.

Release shooters might be better off with the Command Cams. I really do like Accuwheels for shooting fingers though. Especially for field archery.

Thanks guys! I presently shoot a MT Sport with the Command Cams, so I guess I'll stick with them on the next bow.

Malenurse,

I don't know if you know or not but Hoyt redesigned the Command Cams this year and are now calling them the Command Cams Plus. They have a more solid back wall than before and are actually quieter.
