I have been told its about the part where the nock clamps the string. Between the stringloop the string loop should be strait in the nock, pushing it strait forward. Then there is the drawlenght issue which is a little longer so arm muscle supposed to be less stressed. I also understand than the people who use it believe they do not make any movement on the string upon release.

I think i can do fine without it and dont like anything more on my string than i really need.

I really like the loop material from truball, I buy from them directly I think about $3 a foot. It's a little stiffer and makes for easy release attachment.

I just call them. Shipping is reasonable too if I remember correctly.

Brownell makes a great string loop material, I purchased a 100 ft. roll of it for 24.99. You can buy smaller pieces but I found that it also makes indestructable boot laces. The material is smaller in diameter than most and is alot easier to work with than most that I have tried. BCY also makes a good loop material. And I beleive that it is the same that PSE uses for their string loops. If you do your own, make sure that the loop is tied properly, I like to tie mine so that the burned end is towards the nock, the loose end has extra force on it to keep the knot tight.
