I was planning on shooting the easton axis 340 with 100 gr. heads. Now I'm considering shooting 125's, but I don't know if this will work with the 340. Should I maybe go to the 400? Assume that both arrows would be fletched with feathers. My setup is a razortec, 66lb, 29.5 draw, drop zone rest, and d-loop. I don't have a problem shooting either setup, just wondering what would "theoretically" work better. Thanks

If it takes 340's to spine up right with 100 gn tips, then 400's would definitely be way underspined with 125's.
You may know this, dwd, but there have been several questions about Easton/Beman sizing here lately, and I don't know if it's ever been fully explained. So, hang in there with me for a minute.
Easton and Beman size their shafts by deflection (amount of bend) in thousandths of an inch, using a spine tester. Deflection for the 340's is .340", and .400" for the 400's. The further the shaft bends under the weight, the less stiff the shaft is. So, size 300 is stiffer than a 340, and 340 is stiffer than a 400.
Arthur so if I'm shooting Carbon Express 6075's which would be the best broadhead to use the 125's or 100's considering I'm shooting them from a BowTech Patriot dually 60# and 28" draw, can you give me an idea what kind of speed I might be looking at ?
If your arrow is 28.5" 100 gr. you are 403 gr. at 11.5 foc and a 125 bh at 428 gr. and 13.5 foc. IMO you are just right!!
A 300 axis at 28.5" and a 125 bh is 461 gr. and foc is 12.6% and the 100 gr. at 10.6.
You might try different size field points and see what fly's best.
Nubo
I shoot 6075 TH out of a pat sc at 70 @ 28
100 gr. is 462 gr and 9.7 foc
125 is 487 and 11.6 foc% and i'm useing feathers at around 245 fps. With vanes they will be 505 gr. and 9.7 foc.
If you are at 60 & 28 i'm guessing you be in the 255-260 area. Just a guess though..
Thanks fishon 01 I'm only planning on using the 6075's for the moose hunt for the extra KE I will be using a 7gpi arrow for deer and 3D not sure which brand yet ,right now I'm shooting Carbon Force 200's and Dominator's.
