Default How do you measure draw length?

Im kinda new to bow hunting and want to buy a bow. I have shot bows a little through out the past few years. A buddy of mine has one but he doesnt know anything about it except that it shoots arrows and I can shoot them better than him. I was wondering how to measure my draw length because there isnt a bow shop around here. Any information will be apreacited.

Andy, this has been covered here for so many times that I suggest you do a search at the bottom of this page and you'll be reading for a week..

Want close. Measure your height by 2.5

measure your wing span--put your back to a wall or flat surface and hold your arms straight out and measure from tip of middle finger on each hand and divide by 2.5

BG is right. Do a search and you'll read plenty.

My advice: Go to a pro shop for your first bow! Get measured up right or you'll regret it like I did (my first bow was mail order; never again!).

Also remember that formulas and rules of thumb just get you in the ballpark. It still depends on your physique, model of release, etc., which is why you need to have a pro watch you.
