If you get a release that has jaws above and below the arrow , I dont think you'll have a problem . A loop would probably be simpeler .

Why would you want to do that? I watch the guys shooting short bows and hooking up direct to the string at the range. It makes me cringe! The string is at such an angle running through the nock, it's actually frightening. Even if the arrow doesn't pop off the string and make them dry fire their bow, the string still has to pop istelf back into the nock and seat itself into the throat of the nock again when the release is made.

There is nothing about the practice that I can say I like, in the least.

I would never use a short axle - axle bow without a string loop - or I'd use one of those releases that grabs the string above and below the nock.

I shot off the string with my 30.5" ata Hornet using a Scott Mongoose and a TruBall Speed nockset, which has a radius to prevent nock pinch, and never had a single issue, bow shot as accurate as I could. I have however since changed to a Gator Jaw release, which grabs the string above and below the nock, and haven't looked back... Wasn't because of concern over shooting off the string, I just wanted the benefits of a loop without the associated loss of effective draw length.

I don't now how to spell but Bieter nocks form to the angle of the string also. And a Scott Rhino is a good loop release.
