Default APA rest experiance

After spending more hours than I care to admit researching diffrent rests including all of the fall away styles I decided that the KISS principle fit my style better so I began looking for the simplest fail proof containment rest I could find. I finally decided to try the APA ultimate release rest. Here are my thoughts so far.

Simple to set up.
No fletching contact so far
Quiet as can be and accurate.

So far i think this rest is awesome and it will probably be on my bow for a long time. I have only had the rest a short time, but will post a complete review after a few hundred more shots. If you have any questions feel free to private message me or e-mail me.

Agreed. I believe this is one of the better fall-aways on the market. It could use a bit of tweaking for better side to side clearance (i.e. wider for those using a higher profile fletch/feather), but we had several on our bows at the ATA show, and they performed flawlessly and were very quiet. The ease of adjusting drop time is a really cool feature, and the pricing is quite good from what Paul at APA told me (should retail in the $80 range)

Jeff, I got the feeling he is using the fixed, non "twist" away version...

I guess I will be the odd man out here. I bought one (APA Ultimate Release) a couple of years ago and just couldn't warm up to it. It is back in the package it came in and has been sitting on one of my shelves since.

We are referring to the rests that have the metal "loop" over the top of the arrow, right? I have wanted to try one of those for awhile now. Does the arrow clang at all if it strikes against the "loop"? That would probably be my primary concern.

...yeah Jeff, what were you thinking??

I don't know what I was thinking.[:'(] Apparently "nothing"

And yes those are the rests. At the show they had the "prongs" wrapped with a very durable and quiet moleskin type material. Draw was silent..no clanging.
