Question about Impact Cosmic Setup

I purchased the Impact Cosmic XL sight last week and put it on my bow. It seems that I need to move the sight just a touch farther to the right and I have gone as far as I can go.

Has anyone else run into this problem? It's almost as if a section of the sight is hidden by the riser and I cannot move it further to the right.

I shoot a Hoyt MT Sport. I wonder if this sight just isn't compatible with it. I only took a few shots with it and I like the single pin and the brightness of it is great, just doesn't seem to be flexible enough for my set up.

Is your MT Sport already setup with appropriate centershot adjustment of the arrowrest for your arrow?

Sorry Blackfrog you lost me. I'm not very technical. Are you asking me if the rest is centered? If so, yes. I've been using it for the past 3 years with a different sight and everything seemed fine.

The sight should work with that bow. A friend of mine has a MT sport with the cosmic on it. Black Frog is most likely right with the center shot idea. Paper tune you bow. If you aren't hitting bullet holes left and right your center shot is most likely off. If you are tearing high and low you need to adjust your nocking point. It should work for you. Or buy a center shot gauge or take it in and have it checked.Good Luck

What type of arrowrest is it? Does it have a horizontal windage adjustment? Have you ever shot through paper to see if it is in the ballpark of being close to the correct position?

I have a lower-poundage MT Sport that my girlfriend uses- great bow. I just can't imagine a modern sight that doesn't work on that bow. ??

Maybe that's the problem.

Another way you can get in the ball park is to hold the bow vertically. Nock an arrow put it on the rest. looking at it from the rear (how you normally hold the bow) You arrow should be inline with your bowstring. not to the left or right. Try that first.

Out of curiosity, is it possible that my rest is that far out of center? I mean I have the sight ALL the way as far as it can go to the right. Seems strange.

Is it possible? sure- you mentioned that you don't feel that you are very technical about archery. Who setup the arrowrest in the first place?

A shooting machine will put an arrow from a horribly out-of-tune bow or out-of-place arrowrest into the same spot every time. So if your form is repeatable enough, you can still shoot the setup within reason.
