In my quest for a the perfect arrow, balance and looks wise, I was wondering if anyone had ever rubbed off the decals that they put on carbon arrows. You know, the one with the arrow name and specs on it.
If so, what did you use and does it affect the carbon arrow at all?
I want to get rid of that green cresting that comes on the Gold Tip XT 7595's but I don't want to damage the arrow.
I have found the easiest way to do this is to take an old fieldtip (the longer the ferrule on the tip, the better (i.e. 125gr heads) and chuck it into my battery drill. I then use a fine piece of sandpaper (600grit or finer) to hold the shaft upright as it is spun in the drill. It removes things like dips, and cresting quite nicely. I can't speak for the gold tips, but the carbons I shoot have a coating on them, on top of the actual carbon fibers that keeps me from sanding down into the actual fibers.
I am not sure if GoldTip builds their labels into the graphite like they do their camo. If they do, well, then you are out of luck, but, if not, 98's idea sounds good. Just don't take too much off!

Just a little nail polish remover (very little) or some alchohol or your finger nail
Damn - just stare at it and it comes off
I took it off mine with no problem

Everyone always asks me what am I on?...........
What am I on???????
I am on my Bike 6 hours a day, Busting my A**...thats what I am on.
I tried rubbing alcohol, non-acetone finger nail polish remover, and a decal solvent used by model builders.......but nothing came close to a product called "OOPS!". This stuff ate through those decals in about 2 seconds and I was done stripping 12 arrows in 5 minutes after I started using this.
Just use a paper towel and it leaves no scratches and no decal at all. This stuff is great for cleaning up everything and I highly recommend anyone with kids having a can of this stuff on hand.
