Default need some Bowtec info or opinions

Hi guys, I've been shooting Hoyt bows for about 10 yrs now and since they did'nt come out with anything that caught my eye this year I've been looking at the new Bowtechs. I'm looking at a Pro-40 dually or maybe the Pro-40 with Freedom cam. Can you techies give me the pro and cons on both. I like the longer a-a bows and high poundage. Thanks guys for the info.

Boy sjb, you picked 2 very different animals there.....
I'll try to break them down for you and you'll have to decide what is more important to you as an archer.....ultimately you should try to shoot both bows because they are quite different.

Pro40 Freedom:
1. EXTREMELY smooth to draw, draw weight will feel considerably less than actual weight.
2. Dead quiet
3. VERY forgiving 8 1/4" brace height
4. Not a speed burner ...respectable high 290's IBO speeds
5. Will feel even a bit longer due to the large cam and idler.
6. Wall is ROCK solid and stop peg allows draw length and let-off adjustments(More so let-off)
7. Basically no handshock/vibration

Pro40 Dually
1. Smooth to draw, but STIFF........it can be both ,and this bow is. Picks up weight early carries it a long way thru the draw cycle and stacks a bit at the end. Short defined valley and lower 65% let-off.
2. NOT dead quiet, not LOUD either.......just average noise wise
3. 7" brace height....still plenty shootable
4. VERY fast, but also still very very shootable.......my 2003 Pro40 Dually helped me put up my best 3D scores to date.
5. Similar enought ATA , stable platform
6. Wall is as solid as you will feel on a Dual cam bow. Actually quite similar to BowTech's original post feed single cam without the draw stop peg.
7. A little recoil, but not much at all (We're comparing to a bow with pretty much ZERO) Remarkable when you consider the energy it puts out.

Since you say that you like high poundage bows, I'm guessing draw cycle might not be as much concern, but you need to consider this.........a 70# Pro40 Freedom will feel about the same weight as a 60-62# Pro40 Dually. A 70# Dually is a serious drawing bow(I haven't drawn the 2004 Duallys yet so I am going off my experience with the 2002-2003 models) But they hit like a truck.
So.......do you go with the milder drawing, smoother shooting bow with respectible speeds, or the stiffer drawing still very shootable faster bow?

What do you really want the bow to do for you?
