Default Actual Bowtech Information.......Please

Just curious what people were actually shooting with the Patriot and Extreme VFTs. All the ID tags that I saw the other day were about 10fps slower than the advertised speeds. I did see a post awhile ago for the 2004 Bowtechs, and there was some numbers kicked around for different weights, but I couldn't tell whether they were actual numbers or calculated numbers.

What I'm curious to know is:
1) How fast does the Patriot and Extreme shoot a 400 +/- grain arrow with a 29" draw fully set-up and ready to hunt...over a chronograph; not some calculated figure.
2) Are the weights that are given on the spec sheets with or without the hush kit installed? Anyone have a weight for a Patriot with a two piece quiver installed?

I just want some real numbers to kick around so I can figure out what my next bow is going to be.

Thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure the speeds you read were aquired WITH the hush kit installed.

All IBO speeds in the catalog are obtained w/ nothing on the string but a nock.

Speeds on each individual bow (on the Birth Cert) are obtained w/ the hush kit, Vibrablocks, brass nock, and eliminator buttons.

I can throw out some numbers I"™ve got out of my bows

2002 Pat Single, 61 pounds, leeches, loop, tru-peep. Adjusted to 29" AMO draw, 367 grain arrow@ 276 FPS. 308 grain arrow at 299 FPS.

2002 Pat Single, 71 pounds, leeches, loop, tru-peep. Adjusted to 29 "œ AMO. 388 grain arrow @ 289 FPS. 434 grain arrow at 274 FPS.

2003 Pat Dual Cam. 71 pounds. 28 & 7/8" AMO draw. Leeches, loop, tru-peep. 398 grain arrow @ 294 FPS.

2002 Mighty Mite I-cam. 71 pounds, adjusted to 29" AMO, leeches, loop, peep. 354 grain arrow at 306 FPS.

2003 Extreme VFT, 61 pounds, adjusted to 29" AMO, loop, peep, stock string silencers, 388 grain arrow @ 279 FPS.

Those are all I can remember at the moment.

I'll give you actual numbers. I own a 2003 Bowtech Extreme VFT. It is a 70 lb 29" draw model. The peak weight is set to the max. at 70.5 lbs. I have the Bowtech Hush kit, string loop and peep, and a GKF Mirage dropaway on it. The Bowtech birth certificate said 317 fps. My actual numbers with the above mentioned accessories and a 367 grain Gold Tip XT are 304-306 fps. Hope that helps!!

Thanks to everyone for the replies.

It doesn't really seem like there is a heck of a lot of difference between the PAT and the Matthews Legacy. Maybe the actual weight of the bow, but speed looks pretty much identical.

I would still like to know how much a Patriot weighs with the hush kit and quiver installed vs the Legacy.

The weight of the Patriot is 3lbs 12 oz, the matthews lx is 4.25 lbs. The IBO of the Patriot is 320-328 FPS, while the IBO of the LX is 315 if my memory serves me correctly. However, the LX requires a brace height of 6 5/8" to get that speed while the Pat has a more forgiving brace height of 7". Hope this helps.
