Default Oh my I'm drooling, Pro40 F-cam!!!

Ordered my Bowtech Pr40 w/F-cam last Tuesday and got it last night, don't get your hopes up guys for quick delivery times, I guess the Bowtech rep was helping the dealer I bought it from out because he's a new dealer in the area and wanted to get a bow in someone's hand, and I guess I'm that lucky person.

One word describes this bow, AWESOME!

Birth certificate was 29"/60lbs/300gr arrow 282fps, I figured 5fps lost for 60lbs, 10fps for draw length and I'm at 297fps not too far off the top end of 300fps.

I've only shot the bow about 75 times and a few things that I noticed.

1). Tuning - eyeballed everything and had perfect arrow flight, only had this happen with one other bow, Merlin Max3000 w/ Omega Cams.

2). Finish - Mossy Oak Obsession looks very nice, but I had eight 1/16" white dots on the riser. They seemed to be spread evenly and in the same spots on both sides, probably has something to do with the dipping process??

3). Draw - Very very very smooth very similar to the Omega cams but the F-cam is a little more smooth, imo.

4). Grip - Really had a hard time getting used to last years grip but this one is better, not sure what changed but I like it a lot, wish it had a little offset though.

5). Recoil - None

6). Vibration - None

7). String noise - slight twang, but a string leech should take care of that.

8). Draw length - seem to come in a tad SHORT of 29", I'm guessing 28 7/8"

9). Riser - as other people have mentioned make sure you have plenty of left/right adjustment, NAP quicktune 1000 will not work. Really beefy as well

10). Bow Weight - seemed very light for 4lbs 3oz, seemed more like 4lbs 3oz with my stabilizer added.

11). Axle to axle length - even though the bow is 37 1/4" a-a, it seemed more like 40" due to the size of the cam/idler, makes this bow point extremely well, I had a hard time missing @ 15yds bare bow.

I'm going to be hard pressed not to make the Max3000 a back-up after shooting this smooth shooting cam. I'm going to try and get it sighted in and take it hunting this weekend and see how it does in the field. Bowtech has a real winner with these new F-cams. Try them out, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Did you move the launchers on the NAP QT1000 to the outer hole? I find it hard to believe it won't work because I got it to work on a Bowman Accuriser -- now that is about the beefiest bow I have ever seen

Tried everything and they came up about 3/16" - 1/4" short. I think has to do with the combination of the cut-out and beefiness of the riser. The detail on the machining is pretty sweet.

Congrats! I have to agree completely; right down to the spots in the camo. Except I have seen risers with many more in number, although most are very small. You can see them and feel them though. I think they need to get that straightened out.

I also wonder why the limb pockets don't have lock screws in both sides. I assume BT is happy using one. Everything is ready for 2 on the riser it just isn't tapped and no screw. Is yours the same?

I'm leaning toward this bow with its awesome smooth draw for my dedicated FITA bow. The huge Brace height and the way it points like you said, it should be a first class ticket for me this year.

I wonder how my dealer landed one of these babies???? He has a Liberty too. You think the 40 has no shock or vibration, the Liberty is even better in those departments. It has the same finish issue (I think it is anyway) as well, BTW. Still, GREAT BOWS!

My Liberty doesn't have the "spots" AFAICT but it does have a "swirl" of sorts...a blemish where two ends of the film dip met.

Pro-40 F-cam is probably going to be my next purchase.

DLE, glad you like the P40 so much. I have been sick and haven't been able to shoot. As soon as I can, I'm going to wear this thing out. Good luck with yours.

Rob, even with the launcher all the way to the left, it won't work. Another hole would have to be drilled. A Trophy Taker will work I know. I'm going to try a NAP 4000 next.

We're thinking alike again Jeff. (P40F that is)

I'll see if I can capture a decent photo of those places in the finish. My camera isn't great by any means though. Both the p40 and the Liberty had them.
