Default Side to side play in cams?

I had my bow on a bow press the other day and noticed that there was side to side play in the cams when not under pressure from the limbs. This is an older model bow that I just recently picked up and started shooting again, and I was wondering if this is normal or something that needs repaired.

Thanks

Tom

A tiny bit of slop is normal. The wheels can't be so tight that they can't rotate freely around the axles because arrow speed will suffer. If you hold the bow up to the light and can see daylight anywhere between the wheel, spacers or limb, the spacers are either worn down some or were never the right thickness to begin with and could stand replacement. If you decide to replace them... While you've got the wheels off and axles out, might as well have the bushings in the wheels replaced. Check the axles for wear and straightness and either clean or replace them. Lube the axles before putting the bow back together and it'll shoot like it did when it was new.

I have once replaced the bushings in the cams.
It was very simple.
It was for a PSE and i put in Hoyt bushings.
I guess thats the only thing those two have in common

The bushings should be available at any pro shop.
